Exercise Without Equipment

Exercise Without Equipment

  • you don’t need fancy equipment or a gym membership to stay fit
  • need weights? look around the house for things to carry
  • a full gallon jug weighs 8 pounds! Fill it up and do some basic lifting with it, use one for each hand. If 8 pounds is too much, only fill it half full. Want it heavier? Fill it with sand!
  • got kids? Lift them! You can do leg lifts with a toddler laying on your legs, or simple lifts up and down (remember to lift with your legs and not your back!)
  • kitty litter or pet food containers, buckets and bags, their all pretty heavy try doing squats while lifting those
  • big container of laundry soap can be used to do arm curls
  • who needs an expensive stair stepper when you have stairs in the house or leading up to your porch, they’re free and always ready for stepping exercises
  • furniture, use a chair or sofa to support your legs while you do sit ups or crunches
  • walking requires zero equipment (maybe some shoes if you’re going outside!)
  • don’t get that expensive fanny firming step ledge, your kitchen stool is just as good
  • want a set of hand dumbbells? Grab something else, a 20 ounce soda bottle filled with play sand will do the same job or some canned goods out of the pantry
  • fitness equipment is everywhere disguised as every day household items!
